Saiyyidina Ali A.S passed away on 21st Ramadhan in 40 AH, He was attacked on the 19th day of Ramadan by a blow from the poisoned sword of Abdul Rahman ibn Muljam (Laanti) , while Maula Ali was performing the morning prayer in the Mosque of Kufa (which lead to the Martyrdom of Saiyyidina Ali A.S on the 21st Ramadhan). Saiyyidina Abdullah R.A narrates: RasoolAllah ﷺ saw Hazrat Ali and Ammar Yasir stretched out and asleep on the soft ground and woke them up. He then touched Saiyyidina Ali with his hands and said: “Awake, O Abu Turab! (Father of the Soil) Would you like me to tell you of the most wretched of men? (And then RasoolAllah ﷺ said) There are two of them. One is Uhmir Samud, who slew the camel (of Prophet Salih a.s). THE OTHER IS, (pointing to Hazrat Alis a.s head), THE PERSON WHO STRIKES HERE WITH HIS SWORD, SMEARING YOUR BEARD WITH BLOOD.” 1) Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, Fil Musnad, Volume 4, Page 263 Hadees 17857
