Sake, Double Bay. Contemporary Japanese Cuisine. The latest edition by Urban Purveyor Group and we were lucky enough be awarded the job to design it. Our focus was to create a beautiful, contemporary place to dine and eat Japanese rather than a themed venue. For this, our style leaned toward grand gesture in our choice and usage of materials. From soaring planes of a marble that is rarely used and the simple in our approach to the function and details of the joinery. The seemingly endless concrete bar facade offers a highlighted view into the sushi bar and the kitchen. Light Oak screens offer a shuttered glimpse into the private dining rooms that have been finished in a pale green stone, quarried only in Japan, and the seating is upholstered in plum. Our modern Geisha is etched on bronze mirrored glass, in full height, and demurely oversees the the wine wall and bar. We hope you like it and have the opportunity to dine there soon:
