Salaams! I dont know why but I feel like sharing a creepy but true story with you, my Fb friends! My Mom and four of us, siblings, left Tanzania forever in the 70s on a ship called the S.S. Karanja. A lot of interesting things happened on our trip but this one stands out because probably Allah wanted me to be on alert the next time. On one occasion after many days on the S.S. Karanja, we saw the shores of Seychelles. Everyone wanted to stretch their legs and jump on a little boat to see Seychelles. When our turn finally came, it was like a total of two dozen passengers on a boat. We were so excited and chatted throughout the excursion. There was one slim young man, maybe of Indian or Sri Lankan origin. He was like a shadow behind me, never uttering a word. Since the majority of us were teenagers at that time, we just carried on with our chat, jokes and laughter! We returned to the ship after a lovely time. Seychelles at night was subdued but the walk on the island did us good! It was the next morning when the ship suddenly slowed down to a crawl. Word went out that someone had jumped off the ship. The respective guys job had ended as a sailor on S.S. Karanja. He left a note for his family and a tiny doll for his daughter. His slippers lay where he had jumped off the deck! It was the chap who walked behind me in Seychelles! My conclusion is that out of desperation, human beings do such terrible things to end their lives. (It must have taken the sailor forever to drown. Maybe he wanted to get back but it was too late!). Truly makes me worried about people around the world, in the aftermath of the war, for example. We cannot just allow folks to end their lives in desperation. With brainstorming and action we can really help! 💐. Like contributing a dollar towards a container to Iraq or other needy places...your Community Centre can help put this together! Help for Orphans group is waiting with their little palms outstretched; Darifa Muhammad would love someone to sponsor an orphan (17,300 already sponsored out of 3 million. Number is reducing as each sponsor helps an orphan!). Thank you for hearing me out!
