Sand Art ----------- Long Back, Sand was contained in hour glasses and defined time. Sand it seems is an important mineral now. Like the Pearl, Sand can be FRESH or MARINE depending upon the source. Children need to realise that. The fresh water Sand needs to be taken with a pinch of salt though. Syllabus needs to be modified. Sand as the medium shall be patronised in times to come. Sand Artists need to be promoted. All River Bottoms require to be scraped, slowly cautiously guardedly and skilfully to carve a shape underneath. Who knows, The Shape of the water thus contained may then acquire magical powers from heaven or some intelligent species from above might read between the sands. Hopefully these Pools might breed Islands of Excellence. The idea is to make the river appear like a series of Ceramic Decontaminated Containers. (Remember Sand is to Ceramic what Leadership is to Nation-Building) Technology has been kind to us. The Modern tools for sand art have mushroomed on our appetite for this near dead art. Next time you see Wall Hangings on the street sidewalls ( COW DUNG ART - DUNG CAKES hand plastered ) , think not of the palm that sticks these cakes, but the wall behind, the sand in it.. the river that fuelled it...and above all.. raise ur head to realise that SAND as a medium of EXPRESSION has arrived in full RIGHT !
