Santa Clarita Skyhawk Football Organization “ We play Football To raise awareness for Children with Cancer” Skyhawks Player Pledge: · I recognize that it is a privilege to be a member of the Santa Clarita Skyhawks. · I recognize that the Santa Clarita Skyhawks is a unique sports organization that plays football for a cause. This comes with responsibilities regarding behavior on and off the field, as well as being at practice ON TIME and ready to work. · I recognize that the Santa Clarita Skyhawks also demands character and integrity from all individuals associated with the team. · I commit to the notion that the Skyhawks is a team, not a collection of individuals. To be a member of the Skyhawks, I pledge to put team first, over my ego and personal desires. · I accept that there is a hierarchy. As a player, I commit to honoring the hierarchy of coaches and captains. · I commit to always being respectful of my fellow players, coaches, staff, referees and opposing team. · I will not belittle, degrade, bad mouth, fight with, etc. a fellow player, coach or other member of the Skyhawks. · I will not argue with a coach, especially during a game. I will accept the direction of any and all coaches. I commit to bringing any grudges or disagreements to a coach or fellow player only after a game and will do so with proper respect. · There are often children present at games. In addition there may be media and/or community leaders in attendance. I understand and agree that it is inappropriate and unacceptable to use profanity and that profanity is an expression of loss of control. · I commit to proper discipline on and off the field. I will abide by the rules of the game, and police my fellow players. I agree to accept this “policing” from my fellow players. · I will not throw temper tantrums, complain about playing time, throw equipment, storm on or off the field. · I will stand behind the “yellow” line and within the 25 yard markers without prompting. · I will abide by all aspects of the player code of conduct, in both letter and spirit. · I understand and accept that violation of this pledge and/or any part of the player code of conduct is grounds for immediate expulsion from the team. I accept that disciplinary action, fines, etc. are at the sole discretion of the coaches and team leadership and will be honored, accepted and respected
