Saturday I had the privilege of helping Tim Humes --- one of the small group of remarkable historian-paddlers on the Miramichi --do some maintenance on the newly reopened Nipisiguet-Miramichi portage trail. As part of an ongoing CanoeKayakNB project, this truly ancient trail was researched by Bobby Doyle and reopened ( brushed out, walkways added where necessary to protect the fauna, brooks cleaned of blockages) by Humes, Doyle, and Siliker.
