Saw John Flecks Blacktop Highway Thursday night. It was brilliant, and Flecks performance, accompanied by bizarre props and three video monitors, was spectacular. Not only were Michal and I amazed at the complexity of what he was doing, but neither of us has laughed so hard in years. It was a memorable and exhilarating evening. John Fleck is an extraordinary performance artist with an avid following (the shows are all sold out), but unrecognized by a wider public. Im not writing this as a favor to him (we met only briefly around 20 years ago), but because I was blown away.
