Saw some completely crazy casting in the very long, but admirable film THE BUTLER tonight. Robin Williams as Eisenhower, Alan Rickman and Jane Fonda as Ronald and Nancy Reagan, John Cusack as Nixon (!),Mariah Carey as the young Forest Whitakers mom. Wonderful moments and performances in this film, but would have been better quite a bit shorter, I think. Saw NEBRASKA last night. Loved Will Forte. As for the rest...wondering...why.... just did not work for me. There were a few standout terrible acting performances in that film that defied explanation from the experienced pros on hand.
