Scarlett, our little red ambassador of good will. She is seeking her forever home. She was left unclaimed at one of our local pounds and has made amazing strides and built confidence and made friends along the way. McGrupp’s Doggie Day Care is fostering her at the moment and Shannon has been so kind to allow her to stay and be cared for by her and her staff. The saddest part of Scarlett’s tale is that two different landlords said yes initially to foster-to-adopt hopefuls and both landlords upon meeting her said no. Why? Simply and purely because she is a Pit Bull mix. You would be hard pressed to find a more dear and sweet dog. Example: She participated in the recent BSL awareness walk in Salem. Picture this – 35 dogs (predominantly Bully breeds) walking from Salem Commons through busy downtown Salem,MA during Halloween month. Crazy as that may sound it was the greatest experience for the dogs and the people walking and the folks of Salem who were either visitors or residents reveling in the Haunted Happenings events. Scarlett would have cleaned up if we had set up a kissing booth. She loves meeting and greeting and plays so nicely with other dogs at day care.
