School Mum Simone has asked: I have a daughter who started reception (prep for some) term 1 this year. Her teacher is always taking days off (sick im pretty sure) A couple of weeks ago it was for entire week and again today! She was meant to go on an excusion today and because she is away they couldnt go and it has to be re-scheduled. I know sometimes you cant help being sick and sometimes its unlucky it falls on a day where something is planned but this is happeneing pretty much every fortnight or if not, monthly. Im concerned this this may effect my daughters learning or routine because relief teachers dont always know what is happening in the classroom. Plus everytime i go into the classroom in the morning to drop her off all she does it sit on her chair at the front of the class and doesnt get up to greet anyone or approach any of the parents to talk about how their child is going at school or doesnt even say good morning to the children as they enter the class room. I dont know what to do, i dont really want to move her out of her class because she has made friends, but her education is important too and i definately cannot say she cant take days off!! Any advise?
