School is back in session. Its amazing the animosity directed at Christians in our country and in our school systems. Some would say it began in 1962 when public prayer was banned in school. Many times I have heard people say, They have kicked God out of School. I understand what people mean when they say that but I must respectfully disagree. I have a problem with people and Christians saying, God has been kicked out of school.. I have disagreed with this since I was a youth pastor 20 years ago. Here is my issue with that statement. 1) If you say they kicked God out of our schools you are saying that a man made law is bigger than God. Trust me if God is able to raise 200 million Christians in Communist China he can certainly get around a man made law in these United States. 2) To say that they have kicked God out of our school is to deny that there are God fearing, Bible believing teenagers and teachers that carry the presence of God with them on our school campus. There may be a lot of opposition from administration or other students but be certain of this, every Christian student that walks those hallways are not walking alone, the Spirit of God is in them and there is not thing anyone can do to stop that. Christian students, there will be opposition! The word of God tells in 1 John 4:4 that...the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. God has placed our young people in their school as a missionary to show Gods love and to be His ambassador. To represent Him and be a light in a dark world. I believe in our students and what God can do in them and through them. The power that they carry to school everyday is more powerful than mans opinion, political correctness or even some silly man made law. By the way the law couldnt stop Daniel from praying or force Shadrach Meshach and Abednego to bow in fear to a false god and it wont stop students who have a heart after God in this day and time either. So next time you start to say, They have kicked God out of school. maybe instead you can say, They have TRIED to kick God out of school but he is still very much there!
