Scott Allen Well just when you think you have seen it all at political meets. The Clay County School Board has a meeting and expands your horizon on life. From what I observed there were verbal personal attacks on each other. The board members to include the School Superintendent ACTED LIKE CHILDREN with their actions, it started in the opening moments from the first speaker from the attending audience, and was carried on from there. At any moment I was awaiting for one of the Board members or the Superintendent to stick out there tongue and put their fingers in the ears or some other some childish act. I did see egos and attitudes and behavior problems. And the Attorney that represents his own contract what a joke, if I am not mistaken the County Attorney Mr. Scrubby, has a time limit on his contact of just a vote and no real notice if the CCBC makes a decision to terminate his services. I have a few other questions about some of these meetings they were discussing about his negotiating with his contract was this done in an open meeting to the public or done in private? I know what was said but do they really want to stick to their statements. I have listen to people make statement about how the Superintendent is over reaching his authority and the counter claims to the School Board itself over reaching their authority. But when I observe the superintendent try to start a verbal fight and then sit back and wink and smile at the audience and the flip his mic up/down and lean back in his chair there is a real problem and as far as the Board members go THEY were just as guilty. Some of the facial expressions they were making at the speakers from the audience were disrespectful at the least. The board members also were making their fair share of disrespectful comments to each other. It should mandatory that ever voter in Clay County attend or watch one or more of these meetings. I think it is time for term limits on this board to include the Superintendent and limits on all contract employees. Term limits are good enough for the CCBC, the President of the United States, The Governor of Florida, and then why not these elected officials. How can the teachers of Clay County expect the children to give respect to them and each other when the leadership is behaving in such a manner? If I acted like this in high school you can bet one thing I would have received would have been an attitude adjustment from the staff at the school or the paddle any way maybe thats what is needed here a good paddling to all involved. This whole group of elected officials is acting like the U.S. Congress with their attitudes and we all know how great there approval ratings are.
