Scott Walker has a new low. He wants to allow someone with real life experience to gain a teacher license. In Walker World, Scott Walker has a self-proclaimed Masters Degree (reality is that he never graduated from college; I have no problem with that as long as its not an ax to grind for them, right?). . According to the Department of Public Instruction, a teacher must have: - A minimum of bachelor’s degree. - Completion of an approved educator preparation program, including meeting all applicable Wisconsin statutory requirements and testing requirements. - Satisfactory background checks result. Scott Walker has none of these (including the background check); yet he feels so entitled as to proclaim that any person who has life experience, in any capacity, is capable of educating our children. I have a ton of life experience, but I certainly expect my child or grandchild to have a teacher who is much more talented and educated in the art of teaching than I am. Scott Walker is WAY behind me in that line as a general-public person, let alone the teachers we entrust our children to on a daily basis.
