Secretary General Conveys Condolence message to President Uhuru Kenyatta 22 September 201 3 H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta President of the Republic of Kenya State House, Kenya Your Excellency, RE: WESTGATE MALL NAIROBI TRAGEDY It is with great shock and grief that I have received the tragic news of the acts of terrorism at the Westgate Mall in Nairobi Kenya in which the loss of lives this morning stood at 59 lives, with many others injured. Terrorism cannot be justified for any reason, and any attempt to justify it is unacceptable. On behalf of the East African Community, and on my own behalf, I hereby convey my most heartfelt condolences and deep sympathies to the bereaved families; and wish the injured quick recovery. I further wish to extend and support you may deem necessary as a Community and express our solidarity with you, Your Excellency, the Government and people of Kenya in this period of grief and terrible loss.
