Section 4. Confidentiality of Information and Documents. A Customs officials or employee shall not divulge, confidential or classified information, documents and records stored electronically or manually, known to him by reason of his office, whether to further his private interest; or give undue advantage to anyone; prejudice public interest . He must: 4.1 Protect the confidentiality and security of documents or evidence for which he is responsible or of which he became aware of by reason of his office. 4.2 Not divulge to any party confidential information acquired in the course of the performance of his official duty even after his separation, resignation or retirement from the Bureau. 4.3 Not utilise information gained from confidential records, to take advantage of a person, whether for his own benefit or for the benefit of others. 4.4 Not release or communicate classified information unless authorised by proper authority.
