Seeking God for the joy of hope in the midst of turmoil. God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, ~Psalm 46:1-2 Our world trembles with terror, coming by surprise like earthquakes. Fear hits our hearts like tidal waves. Structures of government and commerce, standards of goodness and virtue, all that seemed to be stable is shaking. In the midst of this chaos, we pray for many throughout or city. Give people a taste of the surpassing gladness of knowing the one who is steady, immovable, and supreme above all chaos. Pray for joy to rise in those who are locked down in fear and uncertainty and that those who have only known the hollow sheer of worldly pleasures would hear Christs voice and experience genuine joy.
