Seeking ideas: I have exhausted resources trying to help an autistic kid with severe auditory sensitivity. Although he has positively progressed with me in all sensory areas, auditory has proven the most difficult because of phones, doorbells, airplanes, helicopters and other unpredictable noises. I have suggested changing the sound of the doorbell but the mother prefers to ask everyone to knock instead. I have used the Wilbarger Protocol with success in all areas with the least being auditory. OTs, do you have any advice or suggestions for this colleague?
