Self-indulgent Church. There is nothing wrong with being - TopicsExpress

Self-indulgent Church. There is nothing wrong with being prosperous, eating fine foods, etc., but not at the neglect of any concern for those afflicted with the fatal disease of sin. This was the sin of the rich man whom Jesus speaks of in Luke 16:1–3. This was the sin of Laodicean church, which thought that it was rich and in need of nothing (see Rev. 3:19). How this describes the contemporary church, which is self-indulgent and has little concern for the unsaved. Amos 6:4 Who lie on beds of ivory, Stretch out on your couches, Eat lambs from the flock And calves from the midst of the stall; 5 Who sing idly to the sound of stringed instruments, And invent for yourselves musical instruments like David; 6 Who drink wine from bowls, And anoint yourselves with the best ointments, But are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph. 7 Therefore they shall now go captive as the first of the captives, And those who recline at banquets shall be removed.
