Sensory play using ziplock bags and everyday household items. The toddlers and babies have had a great day playing with ziplock sensory bags - you can do this at home with your little one! Simply fill a ziplock bag with tapioca or rice and food colouring . Add in a few sparkles or confetti, zip up the bag and watch them enjoy squishing and squashing all the colours and textures together. To show them how colours are made, put two different coloured paints in the ziplock bag and watch them swirl and move it about until a third colour is made. If your little person is particularly curious and has great fine motor skills, you might want to tape the bag as well as zip it. It depends on how much you enjoy mess if they decide to open it! This is great for fine motor skills and manipulation as well as learning about different colours and textures.
