Sent in: Why is that I fail to see the potential in myself that everybody else sees? Ive been told countless times that Im just wasting my potential away. What do you recommend I should do to start gaining more confidence in myself? In reality, you will not be able to accomplish something big in your life until you realize with hard work and effort you are able to. Set your mind to doing something great (finishing a degree, getting your dream job, getting a promotion, etc) and focus only on getting that done. You might not be able to see your own potential until you accomplish something, but it is the only way for your to prove it to yourself. Start setting daily goals for yourself as well that involve taking care of yourself. Even if they are small things like flossing every night, taking walks, or reading a chapter of a book a day. Daily goals give you sense of purpose and tend to boost your self esteem.
