Serious breakthrough expected by Jan 1, says BJP SRINAGAR – Ruling out re-elections and imposition of Governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir, the Bharatiya Janata Party, second largest party in the State, on Sunday said that efforts were on for sustainable government in the state for next six years. Re-elections or the imposition of governor’s rule in State can in no way be the solution of the issue, says BJP’s general secretary and in-charge JK affairs Rameesh Arora. He added that the people of the state have given mandate to the political parties to govern for six years and if their aspirations were not taken into account, any move other than the formation of the new government could be against the sentiments of the people who have voted during the state elections of 2014. He further maintained that the party had only set three conditions for the alliance with any other political camp in Kashmir for the making of the new government. “We have maintained our stand that the sovereignty of India can in no way be compromised. Second is that priority must be given to the development of the state and third is equal share of funds and development for all the three regions of JK- Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.” Arora said the state BJP has authorized its high command to take final decision on the alliance in JK and that soon a breakthrough is expected. He also remarked that before January 1 next year, when the state Governor has called both BJP and PDP to come up with the details over government formation, a breakthrough and a serious development is expected. “There has been around 70 percent of the polling recorded. Holding elections again is not an easy affair. For ensuring democratically elected government in the state, the party is open for negotiations,” he said.
