Several years ago I had the dream of taking our students on a trip. I wanted our kids to see a different part of their country, exert their independence, and make their learning in the high school classroom come alive because they had seen many of the places in person. I appreciate all the thank-yous I have received, but . . . It is you, the CARDINAL COMMUNITY that needs to be thanked for giving these kids this experience. You who have eaten at the soup supper, bought candy bars, etc. You who have given time and money to support us. It is you who have given this trip to our kids. Its true - this trip requires some work to make it happen, but my week with these kids is a gift I receive. I get the to learn about the world through their eyes, their excitement . . . what teacher doesnt get humbled by the magic of a child learning?
