Severe Thunderstorm Warning update: TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for DAMAGING WIND For people in parts of the Central Coast and Whitsundays, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Wide Bay and Burnett, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast Forecast Districts. Issued at 7:23 pm Tuesday, 12 November 2013. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Emerald, Clermont, Blackwater, Moranbah, Capella, Dysart, Ipswich, Kingaroy and Boonah. Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Herbert and Lower Burdekin, Central West and Maranoa and Warrego districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED. A 107km/h wind gust was observed at Roma airport at 15:10 AEST. Emergency Management Queensland advises that people should: * Move your car under cover or away from trees. * Secure loose outdoor items. * Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees. * Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm. * Beware of fallen trees and powerlines. * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.
