Gathering of Thoughts By Ken Miller 7-2013 © Most of us old cowboys would be pushing coal into the flames of hell When the Lord rings his bell If it wasn’t for His love and grace In life’s great race So don’t be a whinin’ and cryin’ About being afraid of dyin’ Keep your words low and sweet You may never know the ones you may have to eat And keep them true and honest Cause you WILL answer to the Greatest of all Bosses Don’t lie, cheat or steal Not even for a meal It’s hard work And living by the Good book When he has to make a stand And he will always be strong For what is right or wrong Not going left or right But straight on being a guiding light Don’t lie or deceive I ask you to believe Thunder and lighting and snakes in the grass Makes you wonder how long this life will last With the Lord you’re ridin’ If nothing you have been hidin’ Just you and your horse Following His course It can be forever If you endeavor To follow Him Without sin He will surely let you in.
