Shaykh Jamiyl Haliym - may Allah protect him - said: < Lam Yalid wa Lam Yuwlad > This is a refutation and response against every one who ascribes a son to Allah. So it should NOT be said: Son of God, Our father is God, even if – according to the claims of the ignorant – they say: “We intended a figurative meaning.” This is not valid and this interpretation is not accepted. And listen to the conveyed consensus. Al-Qarraafiyy Al-Maalikiyy conveyed in his book Al-Furuwq from Al-QaaDiyy `IyaaD that he said: “Whoever ascribes fatherhood or sonhood to Allah then he is a blasphemer by the consensus of the Muslims” This is a consensus and there is no acceptable interpretation for it. Why? Some foolish people say to their daughters: O daughter of God, up till nowadays! They say to their sons: O son of God. They say to their daughters: O daughter of God. I seek refuge with Allah. Listen to the Hadith Qudsiyy that is related in SaHiyH Al-Bukhaariyy: The Messenger of Allah – sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam said: Allah said: “The human cursed me, and has no right to do so, and as for his curse to Me, him saying: Allah took a son.” Therefore, this is cursing Allah. And there is no acceptable interpretation for it. And listen to what the Judge, the interpreter of the Qur’an, the jurist, Ibn `Atiyyah Al-Andalusiyy said in his book Al-Muharrar Al-Wajiyz fi Tafsir Al-Kitaab Al-`Aziyz in the 3rd volume in explaining Surah At-Tawbah. Listen to what he said: “Whoever says Allah is our father then said: ‘I intended the meaning of affection, sympathy, and mercy’ is deemed a blasphemer and this figurative interpretation is not accepted”
