Shiawassee County’s 911 emergency system went down this morning, and dispatchers are asking residents with emergencies to call its non-emergency line. The Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office issued a CodeRED alert at about 2:30 a.m. asking residents to call (989) 743-9111 or (989) 743-3411 with emergencies. The outage was caused by a problem with Frontier’s emergency network, according to 911 Director Lt. Pamela Battinkoff. As of this morning, she said Frontier was estimating the service would be restored by about 12:30 p.m.
