Shoplifter arrested in assault Louisville KY A man was arrested on Thursday after allegedly stealing from a Target and then assaulting an officer. According to an arrest report, Byron Pollard, 23, was witnessed by Target Loss Prevention removing security devices from merchandise with a pocket knife. The witness called police who attempted to stop Pollard at the entrance of the store. The officer said when Pollard attempted to flee, he grabbed him and a fight ensued sending both men to the ground. After sustaining injuries to his left arm, the officer was transported to University Hospital. When police searched Pollard, they found four DVDs in his pants as well as a short straw commonly used to snort pain pills. Pollard is being charged with assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, theft by unlawful taking and drug paraphernalia.
