Signing Tip: Create Opportunities for your Child to Lead As with all forms of communication, it is important to let your child lead. Every time she leads an interaction and you respond to her, you give her information about things that interest her. This will encourage her to communicate with you! Learn the signs for a favorite toy (i.e. BEAR, DOLL) or family pet (CAT, DOG). [Baby Sign and Play Level 1 classes cover all of this great starter vocabulary] What makes her eyes light up with excitement and joy? These are the things that she will want to talk/sign about!
