Silicon chips and software arent the only forms of innovation driving Oregon’s economic growth. Great strides are happening right in our backyards. Whether it’s a scientist working the onion fields to discover new ways to grow crops, a timber mill retooling to process smaller trees, or our universities researching ways to use soybeans and mussels as a building material – Oregon has an opportunity to be a leader in natural resource innovation. This morning, new technologies using natural resources as a cornerstone of innovation were presented to the House Interim Committee On Rural Communities. These pictures tell just part of the story.
