Since 1989, I have paid the Columbia Borough School District approximately $150,000 for property taxes on my Chestnut Street home. It was ok when I had kids attending Columbia schools and working full-time. Now, it isnt ok. I love what I do, paint and sell my art, but on the other hand, I feel sorry for people my age who arent as fortunate as I and are losing their homes because they cannot afford to pay their property tax. This is one reason some retired people are moving out of Pennsylvania. Florida is very nice in the winter!!!
