Since Ive Been Loving You was recorded by Led Zepplin 45 years ago today (11/14/1969). The song was written by Page, Plant and Jones and produced by Plant and released on Led Zepplin III. It was recorded live in the studio with a minimal amount of overdubbing. For the basslines Page is actually on a Hammond organ using a bass pedal. If you listen closely you might hear a squeaking sound which is a pedal used by Bonham which was nicknamed Squeak King. So does the band like this song? They played it on their tours in 1970, 71, 72, 73, 77, 79 and 80. Youll find it on a number of their re-releases and films to include The Song Remains The Same and their reunion captured on Celebration Day in 2007. In 1994 Page and Plant released it on No Quarter: Jimmy Page & Robert Plant Unledded and Plant sampled it for his solo song White, Clean & Neat. I think we can safely assume: Yes, the band likes it. Looks like a few others like the song. Bonhams kid, Jason, also covers the song on In The Name Of My Father-The Zepset. A few others have covered it to include Vanilla Fudge, Great White and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. youtube/watch?v=z0DAnu5Sq6k
