Since my neighbor Google likes lists & original content, heres how to curb basement seepage: 1) Move to the desert; 2) Barring that, divert water away by downspout, sloped landscaping & brick pavers; 3) Clean your roof gutter & drain; 4) Heat trace the roof gutter & keep the eaves & flashing in good repair; 5) Install & maintain the drainage tile collaring your homes foundation; 6) verify four inches of crushed limestone support sidewalks, brick pavers or concrete patios adjacent to your homes foundation; 7) verify that the drainage from your home to the city sewer is clear if tree roots & other obstructions; 8) install a suitable check valve. & pump to prevent sewerage from backing up in to your home; 9) Ensure that your neighborhood has enough water retention basins to accommodate storm water; 10) Be respectful of the natural ecology of your community & neighbors by not building too intensely.
