Since this is veterans day and I am a vet, I get to say this. My service to my country was a privilege, not a sacrifice. Now, Im not diminishing anyone else their service. However, the real sacrifice when we go off to war is given by those we left behind. I spent a total of 23 months over two tours, Andi my wife, had to pick up my slack while I was gone. She had to not only endure my time in theater, but she had to do her job keeping the house, raising the kids, and keeping our life in the world together. I wouldnt change a thing about my service to my country, but although there are those who did make the ultimate sacrifice, everyone one of us left someone or someones behind and I believe those are the real heros. The ones that keep our lives together while we are gone so we have something to come back to. Here is to you Andi, thank you for all you did for me and our family. I love you.
