Sisters! You have by now heard about the carnage and terror going on under the guise of herder-farmer crisis in Benue State - I was there a few weeks ago - several farming communities are affected, with many displaced and this is sure to affect the planting season and add a further food security threat to the human security threat already existing. A group of concerned citizens in Lagos under the auspices of an association, Save our Food Basket (in formation), have gotten together to see how they can raise awareness about these issues, provide some relief for the displaced persons and advocate with relevant stakeholders for long-lasting solutions to this issue. We need as many people as possible to join Save our Food Basket - we need volunteers to support displaced people and advocacy efforts for peaceful, long-standing solutions to this problem which is threatening several parts of the country - this will be through voluntary donations in cash and in kind (either goods, services such as your expertise). This problem is not a Benue or middle-belt one - it threatens our entire security as a nation and it is important to take action before this scourge consumes the entire nation.
