Sitting in the waiting room and a woman, doubled over on pain, asks me if I am pre or post surgery. She told me she is post and has lost 100LBS since February. She cannot eat any protein among many other things. She has lost half her hair. She told me that she said that she told herself she was doing this for her health and the fact is, it was vanity. I thought about that for a while. I am healthy, down 4 pant sizes since July. I am learning so much about the psychology behind food and weight, but I will not be getting surgery. I am sad for this lady.
