Situation Vacant: Company: Native Instruments Job Title: Technical Director (User Interface Department) Remuneration: £180k + package Job Description: Overseeing development of new user interfaces for our expanding range of high-end audio production software packages. Applicant must have a proven record in terms of taking simple, tried and tested methods of controlling music production software parameters and throwing them all out of the window.. replacing with bizarre, illogical control systems that are completely unintuitive and force the user to constantly refer to a manual written by someone who has clearly never used any audio production software in their life let alone tried to describe procedures in that field in writing. The successful applicant will only communicate through the use of tiny, cool fonts that require a magnifying glass to read unless you are using 60 monitor. You will be highly skilled and motivated regarding finding new, random terms to describe simple audio functions that already have perfectly decent, logical descriptive terms for them accepted and used by the rest of the industry. You will have a passion for hiding the controllers for main, basic audio functions in barely visible, vaguely accessible sub-menus of other audio functions that no one has ever heard of or would ever use. You will have a good understanding of colour/ contrast in order to reduce the visibility of important visual data. Experience of using black text on dark grey backgrounds is preferable but full training can be provided. You must have a beard, no friends and generally hate yourself and the world.
