Sixty-one plus students from Duncan Christian School descended on Cowichan River Bible camp Thursday. It was the schools missions week. Ivan Schulz organized the event at CRBC. The students worked on different projects like, washing windows, removing limbs and stuff from buildings, washed the outside of a portable unit, moved five cords of stove wood.....some of that replenished our wood shed....for which we are thankful. Ivan is part time at the school and part time here at the Oasis Church...thank you Ivan. Barb and I have slowed down considerably...of late, Oh, we are not in the old folks home yet....also thankful for that. Its wonderful for us to live on the Camp grounds and witness two younger generations doing business for Jesus...at camp and the church that meets here. The good news continues to be preached and lived ...young and old still come to the camp and hear, some for the first time hear the glorious gospel declared that Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever, others restored to a walk with the Lord in newness of life and receiving forgiveness. It is not religion people need: If all that we have is faith in something called religion, it turnes out to be a pathetic substitute for faith in God who is, was, and will be. (Elton Truebood) I leave with you this passage in Colosians that explains who Jesus is and what He expects of those who follow Him:See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. For in Him all the Diety dwells in bodily form. And in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority. (Col 2:8 - 10)
