Sixty-seven Republicans cast no votes, complaining that the $1.1 trillion spending plan failed to take on President Barack Obamas executive action on immigration or make any attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act. U.S. Rep. Bradley Byrne, R-Montrose, was not one of them. During last years special election to fill the unexpired term of then-Rep. Jo Bonner, Bradley Byrne narrowly fended off a fierce bid from conservative activist Dean Young, who contended that his opponent would not be strong enough standing up to wasteful budget deals.
