Slightly hungover this morning, and in need of clarification on an issue which has been vexing me for, ooh! 30 seconds now. Growlers. What do people think they are? My understanding has always been they are glass jars, maybe 2-4 pint, with a flip-top grolsch style lid, usually a handle of some description. I notice some people describing the old plastic 4 pint carry out jugs as growlers, and Saltaire call a 1 litre PET bottle a growler. Neither of these are growlers in my view. Now Im not for starting some kind of campaign for real growlers here, but maybe a definition is called for!
