Smothered Cabbage & Ham By: David Triche 2 large heads Cabbage, washed and cut up 1½ lbs. Ham, diced 1 tsp. Salt 2 tsp. Black Pepper 3/4 cup Water 1/4 cup Canola Oil Heat oil in a large pot. Add ham and cook until browned. Add water and stir to remove any debris from the bottom of pot when the ham was browned. Add cabbage, salt and pepper and cover. Let cook until desired taste. I did cook mine between 45 minutes to an hour. This recipe is one that my mother cooks and believe me, you dont need any other seasoning with this. But add any seasonings you prefer to your desired taste! Enjoy!
