So ... Further to my recent musings on my Yoga related page Within You Without You, Ive found myself being copied into emails and included in Group skypes as the Byron Bay community leader for Off The Mat, Into The World Australia & NZ. OK then .. I accept, and in doing so commit to being the voice on whats happening on this front in Byron Shire and surrounds. As passionate as I am about Off the Mat Ive yet to undertake the 7 week Yoga in Action course which has run in other places already. Lets bring it to Byron ~ and soon !! The facilitators are ready to go when we are. So step one, lets bring this community together and start a discussion around how we see Off the Mat fitting in and developing up here. Ive invited some that I know arent local but think may know others who are within their networks , likewise Ive invited some that I know may not have a physical practice but are interested in activism and social change. Off the mat is much less about what our physical asana practice looks like and much more about bringing the tools of Yoga/ Mindfulness into our actions Off the Mat. A few of the Off the Mat facilitators will also be at Evolve Yoga Festival - Byron Bay this Saturday so come say Hi. Please share widely and stick January 31 on the calendar, come along and lets get this party started !
