So..I have been asked why I dont seem excited about the Kiss nomination to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Well....Kiss was also nominated in 2010 and didnt make it. Why? Because Jann Wenner of Rolling Stone magazine hates them. This wouldnt matter...but, he is also the co-founder of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! Listen...love or hate the band....you would be foolish to not admit that their accomplishments are worthy of induction! They have sold over 100 million albums, and still sell out stadiums after 40 years! I could go on, but I wont! I mean....I dont like Elton Johns music...but I know he should be in the R & R Hall of Fame!!! I want Kiss to be in....because...they deserve to be in!!! No doubt!!! However, until they are, it will continue to be a little club run by a person who thinks HE should determine who gets in. Not on the merit or popularity of a particular band! Yes...you can vote (Kiss is currently 2nd btw). However, the fans ballot is only a small portion of what determines who actually gets in. As a matter of fact...Mr. Wenner stated that As long as he was alive, he would do everything in his power to keep Kiss out. Hmmm....I thought it was based on merit....and not a personal issue! Well...it is personal! And, quite frankly, I want Kiss in, but do not need the Hall of Shame to tell me that Kiss is deserving!!! I know this by attending Kiss shows to this day that are attended by over 15K people! I know this because I still see young children wearing Kiss costumes and listening to their music. I know this because of the Kiss tattoo on my right arm. I know this because I am a PROUD member of the Kiss Army and always will be!!!! And on that note....Mr. Wenner, you can KISS my Ass!!!!!
