So I have been wanting a steel resonator ever since I figured out - TopicsExpress

So I have been wanting a steel resonator ever since I figured out that was the only way to make the sound I had in my head before I picked up the guitar 15 years ago. But Ive never owned one. Until now. Many times have I looked into getting an old national, but they are kind of hard to come by, and I have never had any interest in a Chinese import. Its a distinctly American instrument and I always prefer to support an American craftsman. For some reason i just never pulled the trigger on a National though. As fate would have it, I ran across Matt Eichs work when I was looking for a Huss & Dalton. He apprenticed there and spent several years crafting H&D necks (among other things). His prices were so reasonable I couldnt NOT order one. He said it would take some time because he had several trips planned, and that was fine by me. We started bouncing around the idea of a pickup. I wanted something that snorted like a junkyard dog. After a lead on a goldfoil fell through, I suggested having Wolfe make one. They got on the phone and talked shop, and it all just fell into place... Tim
