So... I prepared a revision of our inclement weather policy in order to come up with the broadest options that allow for safety and sound operations. I consulted with as many related parties as possible, all the while with the goal of remaining true to our multi-faceted and unique mission. The revision was sent out today and one parents reply email included this quote: Gail, Ive seen federal government Standard Operating Procedures on topics essential to national security with less detail than your snow policy! :) I think that is kinda sad, funny, but also because of where we live, presumably TRUE! Well, I cant speak to the SOPs of any other org, school or govt as this parent can, but I can say that a lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into a timely and valuable revision so we can think big while caring for the small.
