So I spoke with the Dr. Who gives me the epidural, after that I spoke to a different Dr. Her specialty is more of rehabilitation after surgery. Ive been getting epidural shots since March 2013, they have always worked great, but now the nerve is really getting squashed. I need surgery sooner than I thought. Ive had a total of 4 doctors look at my MRI, they all say surgery. Most say fusion, but the Dr. I am going to go with wants to shave some of the bone, taking pressure off the nerve. I like his thought process, lets try something thats not so permanent. And in a year if Im not better, then I go for spinal fusion. I would appreciate any comments from people that have had back surgery. Mine are L4, L5 & S1.
