So I was judging a photo contest two weeks ago with landscape imagery when I had a particular photo stand out. It was a western landscape with great framing, mountains, foreground and a smooth lake nestled in the center of some really nice pines. It was a great shot capturing a secluded scene. The colors were vivid greens, orange dirt, screaming blues in the sky and a very deep almost tropical aqua in the lake plus some brown detail in the logs. All fake. It was digital enhancements that did not and do not exist at that location. As the rules stated no computer enhancements were allowed beyond lighting and contrast. I really liked the shot and then I simply threw it out for the violation. If only that artist had settled for a true depiction of the location it would have been a blue ribbon winner but instead it had to be manipulated to the point where it was better suited to a Simpsons universe. Too bad as it really hurt the image.
