So, I went to Costco this AM and there was a father (if you could call him that) with the sweetest little daughter, maybe 6 or 7. She was very talkative and we didnt mind. The man put his hand over her mouth so shed be quiet--told him it was okay with us, he muttered something stupid and I moved away. She asked if she could stand up and he very sternly told her only if she stood still and didnt move or jump around. She sat down again, dropped her hat and didnt pick it up until he said it was okay. He was farting around on his phone and the only conversation he had with her was what I described. Very sad situation. I stopped to get a coffee on the way home and in walks another father with a daughter the same age--shes dressed in a sequined tu-tu with matching shoes/purse and a wonderful hair-do. He said it was her birthday all week long and you could tell that this man is what a father should be and I told him so--also told him about the a-hole in Costco. He said he was both mom and dad and that this little girl was his entire world. Two dads, one good and the other one not so great. Sorry that the sweet little girl with the not so good one will probably never know what it is to be someones entire world.
