So Ive been deer hunting for fourteen years now and have never had as exciting night as tonight. No I didnt get another big buck but I did what I feel a lot of hunters now days wouldnt have done. Im not trying to preach to anyone for in the past Ive shot my share of deer you wouldnt brag about. So tonight out for the last night of zone two hoping to not have to waste my next day off driving up to zone one I went out to a local wildlife. Fifteen minutes after being there I spot a doe walking in. Having the wind on my side I was able to stalk up to 10 feet from her. Getting a better look I saw how immature she was but easily a not bad deer for the last night but sitting there watching her I made a decision to let her go. I hear a lot of people complaining about deer numbers but wonder how many other hunters will make the decision for quality over quantity and let the numbers grow.
