So a few spoken word artists and i who have crafted Open Letter started an important dialogue. The question that was asked was If there is anyone you could write a letter to, who would be? The only person who can come to mind was Siad Barre. I wanted to write a letter to him in hopes to narrate what has taken place since he has passed. What now; that we are scattered all over the diaspora? Although there is two sides to every man, it was challenging to write about how he was a hero to Somalia, but in sense how there was so much neglect on his part as a president.
