So, anyone who had been around long enough to hear all the stories - TopicsExpress

So, anyone who had been around long enough to hear all the stories knows that when Gwen Watson and I get together, there is usually some kind of adventure. Todays adventure started last night when Gwen came over and she donated a free Redbox rental to me. I maneuvered my car around her truck and quickly realized my driver rear tire was flat. Pancake flat. So today, David Watson joined the adventure. We tried to loosen the lug nuts with my lug wrench and with theirs to no avail. Trip number 1 to Wal Mart for a new lug wrench. With a lot of coaxing, the lug nuts finally loosened. Cool, just pop off the tire, right? Nope. All three of us tried for close to an hour and could not get it to budge. Enter John Rogers who was on his way to the store for a gallon of milk. He taps the tire four times with a hammer and it falls off. FALLS OFF!! So, Gwen, David and I head to Wal Mart again to have the tire fixed. (Also, please keep in mind my less than loving relationship with Wal Mart.) The nice little fella in the automotive center tells me that the nail is too close to the sidewall and he cant fix it but Plaza Tire might be able to. I was seriously starting to consider using gum, super glue and duct tape to fix it at this point. Off we go to Plaza Tire where we are quickly told they cant fix it either. Sigh. Yes, please replace one of my six month old tires with a new one. (Suppressing hysterical laughter at this point.) New tire back in Gwen and Davids truck and awesome roofing nail added to Plaza Tire s collection of Crap people get in their tires. So, if anyone ever asks how many people it takes to change a tire, the answer is 5. And for 3 and a half hours. HUGE thanks goes to Gwen and David Watson and my dad. Hopefully, this adventure is complete!
